Our son Matthew is moving to Houston Missouri this week with his wonderful family. God has placed him there as the pastor of the Houston Christian Church. Below is a portion of the Ordination Service at our church last night. Please pray for him and his family as they take on this service for Christ. Thank you!

Leader: Ephesians 4:1-13, It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
Congregation: Matthew has been called to this biblical ministry.
Leader: (to the candidate) Have you considered seriously this biblical ministry to which you are called?
Candidate: I have.
Leader: As a minister, you are called to a higher level of responsibility and integrity than other Christians. Have you seriously considered the high level of integrity, morality and Christian living to which you are called?
Candidate: I have.
Leader: Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God, your personal Lord and Savior?
Candidate: I do.
Leader: You do not enter this ministry alone, but with the help and support of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the great cloud of witnesses in Heaven,and the church universal. Church, please repeat these words of faith.
Congregation and Leader: I believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God, and my personal Lord and Savior.
Leader: (to the candidate) Will you strive to encourage the church and lead the lost to a saving relationship with Christ?
Candidate: I will.
Leader: Will you remain faithful to the teaching of the Scripture, teaching "the whole counsel of God" as you teach in the church?
Candidate: I will.
Leader: Will you follow the leading of the authority of the local eldership of the church you serve, promoting unity in the cause of Christ?
Candidate: I will.
